Yamato Transport expects cost reduction to boost profit

Major parcel delivery company Yamato Transport Co. said Tuesday it expects its group net profit in the year to next March will rise 12.0 pct from the previous year to 30.8 billion yen, thanks to cost cutting. Sales are projected to rise 3.2 pct to 962 billion yen, as the company’s efforts to broaden its customer base and to gain orders online are beginning to bear fruit.

SingPost buyts remainder of First Cube

Singapore Posts postal service SingPost has bought the remaining 29% in dropbox firm First Cube, making it the sole owner of the company. SinPost paid about S$474,000 for the stake and said the acquisition would allow it to integrate First Cubes infrastructure operations into its own business.
