AUDI looking to build on its use of KEBA parcel lockers for intralogistics
German automotive manufacturer AUDI is looking to extend its use of KEBA’S KePol parcel lockers for intralogistics.
In a statement posted on its website today (26 July), KEBA said its cooperation with AUDI began with the signing of the contract in December 2017 and the first installation took place in the first half of 2018.
To date, 19 parcel lockers are already in use for internal logistics at AUDI. Of these, 13 lockers are located at the Ingolstadt production plant, 2 in Münchsmünster and 4 in Neckarsulm.
AUDI also uses the pick-up stations to make personal protective equipment such as work clothing, safety glasses and helmets accessible to employees at all times. In addition, tools, machine spare parts, operating materials, IT and office supplies can be efficiently distributed throughout the company and collected around the clock.
“The parcel locker solution has proven to be outstanding for our intralogistics, it optimises our processes and enables our employees to work efficiently,” said the AUDI personnel responsible for the Ingolstadt, Münchsmünster and Neckarsulm sites. “We are extremely satisfied with the solution and the support we receive from KEBA and look forward to further, successful cooperation.”
The intralogistics solution for AUDI comprises the KePol LS-01 (indoor) and KePol FS-08 (outdoor) including a complete software suite and the associated support services from KEBA.”
In the statement issue today, KEBA added that: “There is already a new framework agreement for the KePol FS-09, which is characterised by its modularity and wide range of functions. The first delivery and commissioning will take place this year.”
Cesar Lapuerta, Key Account Manager at KEBA, commented: “We are pleased that we can contribute to optimal and efficient intralogistics at AUDI with our parcel lockers.”
