In national emergency US medicine may be handled by USPS

The Postal Service is working on a plan to deliver antibiotics and other medicine to supplement local public health programs in the event of a catastrophe, officials said.

Antibiotics from the national stockpile could be delivered to local agencies or to residential addresses in an emergency, officials said.

The post office said it was approached for the project because of its extensive delivery network.
