Ukranian post offices are to begin testing the sale of a single travel ticket that covers most of the Ukraine travel network.

Ukrainian Minister of Transport and Communications, Joseph Vinsky, said during a press conference: “Testing will continue until the end of December for a single ticket that covers many different types of transport.”

If the new transport ticket proves succesful, it will be opened out across the Ukrainain postal network, therefore making it available to everyone.

“This is really the first phase. We hope to move to the second phase by the end of 2009. The idea is to phase it in gradually, one of a range of projects aimed at modernising the Ukraine.” he said.
