Only Macri issues statement on collapse of postal services merger

On Saturday it was announced by Socma, the Argentinian holding company which
runs Correo Argentina, the privatised Argentinian post office, that in
partnership with the Exxel Group, it had given up its plans to merge Correo
and OCA, the postal services unit of Exxel. A joint statement from both
Socma, which is headed by Franco Macri, and the Exxel Group had been
expected.
The announcement follows the government’s decision not give its
authorisation to the merger.
