Post offices to supply birth certificates

A deal signed this week by the interim Government and Post Fiji will allow people to extract birth certificates online from their nearest post office.

A deal signed this week by the interim Government and Post Fiji will allow people to extract birth certificates online from their nearest post office.

At the signing on Wednesday, interim Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said this will now improve the service delivery of Government and it would mean that the ordinary citizens of our country will not be forking out additional expenses as it will be very convenient.

Post Fiji Limited’s deputy chairman Niko Bulai said they were honoured to be Government’s nominated partner for the delivery of this vital government service to the people of Fiji.

“The reach of our postal network is extensive with postal outlets at 58 locations throughout the country, making it a perfect means to taking Government services closer to those who would otherwise have to travel far to obtain it,” Bulai said.

He explained that Post Fiji supported Government’s endeavour to facilitate the accessibility of its services and information to foster increased awareness, help bridge the digital divide between the urban and rural communities and to foster development for improved quality of life.

“We are confident that this partnership stamped here will be the hallmark between Post Fiji and Government in paving the way towards future national developments and, indeed, a growing partnership,” Bulai said.
