Finnish Post turnover & acquisition of Capella Group

The Finnish Post has reported a 6 month net turnover of Euro 507.5 million, up Euro 15.4 million on the same period last year. Operating profit decreased from Euro 48.6 million in the first half of 2000 to Euro 35.3 million this year. The post blamed this on the discontinuation of banking services in its sub-post offices, higher costs and investments in electronic services. The post has also acquired the Swedish Capella Group, which specialises in electronic data management, filing and printing. -The buy-out is part of the Finland Posts strategy of growth and globalisation – a strategy in which the electronic data transfer, management and transaction sectors are a significant growth area – said the post.
