PB interest in Sepac confirmed

Pitney Bowes has confirmed it is looking to buy mailing subsidiary Sepac from the French diversi fied services group Fimalac for approximately FFr1.45 billion.
Secap provides a range of mail processing equipment, supplies and technology for low- to mid-volume mailers.
Pitney Bowes stated that it expects customers to benefit from Secap’s product lines and shareholders to benefit from Secap’s stake in the French postage meter market which stands at more than 30 per cent of the French market.
Michael Critelli, chairman and CEO of Pitney Bowes said in a statement: Successful completion of this transaction will strengthen our geographic coverage, expand our distribution and significantly grow our market presence in Europe, particularly in France, the third largest mailing market in the world.
Secaps growing line of digital mailing solutions will help accelerate, especially in Europe, our global strategy to develop a networked platform that links mailers to postal and carrier information and systems.
