Germany's RegTP to call for postal service price cuts report

BONN (AFX) – Germany’s post and telecommunications regulator RegTP will call for postage prices in Germany to be lowered following an investigation into price capping, the daily Handelsblatt reported without citing sources. RegTP vice president Gerhard Harms told the paper a decision over the criteria for determining prices is almost complete and the investigation into price capping will expire at end-2002. Pricing levels will be decided from 2003, but he declined to comment on the possibility of lowering prices.
