Fluc now making alcohol deliveries in California

Palo Alto-based food delivery startup Fluc is now also delivering alcohol from local liquor stores in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles. Founded in mid-2013 by Tim Davis and Francisco Magdaleno, Fluc is already deploying a network of drivers to deliver food and drinks from local restaurants to customers in California.

Commenting on the new alcohol delivery options, Magdaleno said: “Our customers can now order food & alcohol delivery to wherever they are using the web, iOS App & our soon to be released Android App”.

As previously reported, courier firms and on-demand specialists like Fluc can deliver alcoholic beverages to their customers, but the United States Postal Service (USPS) is currently prohibited from doing so. However, a bill currently before the US Congress – the USPS Shipping Equity Act, authored by Representative Jackie Speier – seeks to overturn this ban.
