Dadha launches Netmeds.com mobile app for prescription medication sales

The Chennai-based Dadha Group’s NetMeds.com has announced the launch of its mobile app for buying prescription medications. The company says that the app will make the entire Netmeds.com catalogue of more than 50,000 SKU’s available to everyone with a valid prescription and a smart phone. The Netmeds.com website is itself a new venture, which went live in June.

The Dadha Group has been active in the Indian pharmaceuticals market since 1914 and started up NetMeds.com this year.

Products ordered via the NetMeds.com website and the newly-launched app are delivered within 2-4 days, through an agreement that Dadha has with India Post. Dadha said that the tie-up with India Post is important because it meant that “unlike most competitors Netmeds would be able to deliver drugs across the country”.

Commenting on the launch of the app, Pradeep Dadha, CEO of Netmeds, said: “This is an important milestone for Netmeds.com as well as being a giant leap forward in the war against chronic disease. Through the app we aim to reach out to the millions of people living in non-metro areas where access to many drugs, up until now has been limited and difficult.”
