GEODIS completes OHL acquisition

GEODIS has completed its purchase of US-based third-party logistics provider Ozburn-Hessey Logistics (OHL). In an official statement issued yesterday (3 November), GEODIS said that it has now received the necessary regulatory approvals and has officially completed the acquisition.

Founded in 1951, OHL operates more than 120 distribution centres in North America with over 36 million square feet of warehouse space.  OHL offers direct-to-consumer fulfilment in a wide range of business sectors from specialty retail to manufacturing. The company specializes in apparel, electronics, healthcare, food and beverage, and consumer packaged goods.

The combined GEODIS/OHL structure will generate a consolidated annual turnover of over €8bn with more than 38,000 employees, 165,000 customers and around 400 logistics warehouses worldwide.

Earlier this year, GEODIS unified its portfolio of businesses and services under the GEODIS brand. In its statement yesterday, GEODIS said that: “In time, OHL will also be rebranded as GEODIS.”
