Spring files complaint against anti-competitive practices by Norway Post
Spring, has today, filed a formal complaint with the European Commission and the EFTA Surveillance Authority.
The complaint is against anti-competitive practices by Norway Post and the Norwegian law, which condones them. Spring is requesting the competition authorities to stamp out the excessive surcharging of ABA mail and the surcharging of cross border mail.
Spring’s Vice President for Europe said: “We are determined to provide customers with a top quality cross border mail service at a competitive price. We have brought this complaint because we, and our customers, are opposed to postal administrations abusing their monopolistic positions and doing all they can to wipe out competition in the cross-border mail market.”
With the European outgoing cross border mail market being formally opened up to competition from 1 January 2003, Spring is determined to send a clear message to customers and postal operators that it will not tolerate anti-competitive practices which are designed to delay the benefits of market opening.
