Postmates POP goes live in New York

Postmates POP goes live in New York

On-demand delivery specialist Postmates has extended its “Pop” lunch delivery service to New York City. Pop provides “daily offerings of unique, curated lunch items delivered within 15 minutes”. The super-fast food service launched in San Francisco in October and expanded to Los Angeles earlier this month.

The New York City operation, which went live yesterday (20 April), is currently serving 34th Street to Battery Park, but in a blog on its website Postmates said it “plans to expand north soon”.

According to Postmates, Pop – which is available weekdays from 11am – 1pm – is fast because it “eliminates the pickup leg”.

The Postmates blog explained: “Instead of spending time traveling to a specific merchant location or waiting for food to be prepared, Postmates drivers who participate in Pop carry an inventory of freshly made items ready to drop off immediately.”
