Uganda Post Ltd. Now "Posta Uganda"
Uganda post Ltd has changed its name and logo to Posta Uganda, to march global standards of services and introduce a competitive corporate image.
The new corporate image was launched Nov. 22 at the General Post office premises in Kampala.
The new logo is a vertical rectangle with a red circle in middle with blue and white stripes.
The Managing Director Tom Kiwewa Ssali to guests at the launch that: “Today Nov. 22 as we launch the new name ‘Posta Uganda’ and a new logo respondent in new colours and design to ensure our customers are happier with our services. We are changing the way we do business.”
He added that the event meant an innovative turning point, to reform and improve the quality of services they offer as well as re-energising the company.
Kiwewa guaranteed faster mail delivery, both world-wide and national wide at a cheaper cost since the company is now connected to over 700,000 postal outlets world-wide. “On the local scene, a latter is now posted in Kampala [in the morning] and before lunch it can be in your postal box in Mbarara; and in 24 hours your later will be in Kidepo at a cost of Shs 400 making Posta Uganda the most reliable, efficient and economical service in Uganda,” he said.
The change in image was accompanied with the introduction of new services like the virtual postal box the only postal address with out a post box; money transfer services for both local and international destinations; postal internet services; and 10 regional outlets at an attractive rate of Shs 30 per minute and Shs 25 over weekends.
The Minister of State in charge of Housing Hon Francis Babu urged the staff to ensure efficiency and put the customer in the centre since the days of government subsidies are over.
“Competition needs efficiency and effective marketing thus calling for staff to be more efficient and put much care to their customers to sustain business without which the corporation will collapse and it will mean no jobs for them,” Babu said.
