Hermes has announced that it has commissioned a new logistics centre in Berlin-Brandenburg.

When fully up and running, the 10,000 square metre facility will be able to process up to 250,000 consignments a day.

The Berlin-Brandenburg is the third of nine new logistics centres Hermes is commissioning in Germany. Two facilities in Mainz and Bad Rappenau are already in operation.

Matthias Plack, General Area Manager Berlin for Hermes Germany, said that the new Berlin-Brandenburg logistics centre will help the company handle the skyrocketing growth in e-commerce volumes and offer faster delivery times for the retailers’ customers.
