German CEP market continues to grow

The German courier, express and parcel (CEP) market is continuing to grow, according to the latest study from the Federal Association for Parcel and Express Logistics (BIEK).

In a statement issued yesterday (10 July), BIEK said that around 3.35bn shipments were transported in 2017, which was up around 190m or 6.1% on the previous year.

For the current year, BIEK said that it is anticipating a volume increase of up to 5.5%.

Much of the volume increase has been fuelled by online shopping and e-commerce. As a consequence, said BIEK, B2C shipments make up a growing share of the total volume – but B2B shipments have increased too.
