UPS recognised for building a top corporate reputation
A respected national opinion survey has cited UPS (NYSE:UPS) for building one of the top corporate reputations in America.
The new survey ranked UPS second overall for corporate reputation among the 60 most visible companies in the United States. Conducted annually by Harris Interactive and the Reputation Institute, the 2003 survey was released Thursday.
The survey asks a large sampling of adults to rank companies on six different measures. Among these specific attributes, UPS was rated the No. 1 company overall for “excellent customer service” as well as No. 1 for “sincerity in corporate communications.” In addition to those top rankings, UPS scored in the top five for emotional appeal, social responsibility, workplace environment and high ethical standards.
In the last three Harris Interactive/Reputation Institute surveys, UPS has moved from a ranking of No. 15 among U.S. companies in 2001 to No. 2 in 2003.
UPS, which last year updated its well-known shield logo to reflect the company’s expanded capabilities, has been ranked “America’s Most Admired” company in its industry by FORTUNE magazine each of the past 20 years. UPS also is ranked the highest in its industry on the 2003 FORTUNE “World’s Most Admired” list.
