FedEx Honored As One of the World’s Most Admired Companies

FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) was honored today as one of the Top 10 most admired companies in the world by FORTUNE magazine.
It is the company’s third consecutive year to finish in the Top 10 on FORTUNE’s “Global Most Admired” list, and follows FORTUNE’s recognition of FedEx as one of the Top-10 “America’s Most Admired” companies last week for the third consecutive year. Earlier this month, FedEx was rated seventh, its highest-ever ranking, in the Harris Interactive/Reputation Institute’s annual corporate reputation survey published in The Wall Street Journal. FedEx is one of the only companies to rank this highly in all three reputation surveys and the only transportation company to be included in the Top 10 in all three reputation surveys.
“A strong reputation is an asset that helps us compete in the marketplace and strengthens our relationships with customers, employees and shareholders,” said T. Michael Glenn, executive vice president, FedEx Corp. “The FedEx reputation is built upon trust, reliability, continuous innovation and our employees’ dedication to customers. These reputation measures further inspire us to continuously improve and provide best-in-class service.”
FORTUNE’s “Most Admired” rankings are selected by a cross-section of 10,000 executives, directors and security analysts from more than 60 industries.
FedEx attained its highest-ever ranking in the Harris Interactive/Reputation Institute’s annual corporate reputation survey, moving up to seventh place from 12th place last year. The results were released in the Feb. 19 issue of The Wall Street Journal. In addition, FedEx was one of only three companies in the Top 10 to improve its reputation quotient, or raw score, over last year.
The U.S.-based survey polls a randomly selected group of respondents who were asked to nominate and evaluate companies which had the best corporate reputations. FedEx placed among the top five companies overall in three of the survey’s six dimensions of corporate reputation, including “emotional appeal,” “social responsibility” and “workplace environment.”
FedEx has been honored by FORTUNE as a “Blue Ribbon Company” for appearing on six of the magazine’s honor lists in 2003, including “FORTUNE 500,” “Global 500,” “Best Companies to Work For,” “America’s Most Admired,” “Global Most Admired” and “Best Companies for Minorities.”
