Wincanton secures significant additional contract with Morrisons

British third-party logistics (3PL) company, Wincanton, has been appointed by supermarket giant, Morrisons, to manage additional transport and vehicle maintenance operations.

This substantial additional contract features the management of transport and vehicle maintenance unit (VMU) operations at Morrisons’ Willow Green logistics site at Bridgwater, which will begin later this year.

The new extended partnership will continue to enhance Morrisons’ logistics operations and the service to its stores across the UK.

In 2019, Morrisons partnered with Wincanton for the management of three transport operations, and five VMU operations controlled by its fleet management business, Pullman Fleet Services.

Craig Taylor, Logistics Director at Morrisons commented: “We are pleased to be expanding our relationship with Wincanton, which has shown strong commitment to Morrisons and embraced our plan for logistics. We look forward to an exciting future together.”

James Wroath, CEO at Wincanton, commented: “In these challenging circumstances affecting businesses across the UK, we are delighted to build upon our reputation for excellent implementation and quickly extend the scope of Wincanton’s much valued partnership with Morrisons.”
