Royal Mail: this development will address operational performance issues and environmental concerns
Following a million-pound investment, a brand-new Royal Mail delivery office serving the homes and businesses of Denbigh and Ruthin in North Wales, was opened this week by local MP Dr James Davies.
The new facility will provide much needed additional space for delivery and collection vehicles relieving the everyday congestion at the original offices, both built at the start of the last century. Incorporating 65kW of solar energy, the new site will also support the deployment of 29 new electric vehicles helping to reduce carbon emission for the region.
The 617 m2 office will house around 40 Royal Mail staff and allow the creation of new purpose-built customer service point to improve the overall experience for customers as well as parking for staff and customers.
Commenting on the new facility, Steve Selby Royal Mail Regional Operations Director, said: “This is a great example of how we are able to improve the facilities for our staff, our customer and the wider community. This development will address not just operational performance issues but also environmental concerns and minimise local disruptions.”
Dr James Davies, MP, added: “Royal Mail plays a really important role in all of our lives – in both urban and rural communities. It is good to see the company investing in the Denbigh & Ruthin area, bringing to local people the kinds of services and support that they deserve.”
