DHL launches China-Vietnam service

DHL has launched a cross-border China-Vietnam truck freight service, Eye for Transport reports, to connect major cities in China with emerging logistics centres in Vietnam. The new overland logistics route “links major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Dongguan, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Tianjin, Wuhan and Zhongshan with Vietnamese cities including Hanoi, Haiphong, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City.”

A 2,500km pilot cross-border run featured cargo for Ericsson and departed from Nanjing on 10 July, via Pingxiang in Guangxi province, and arrived at the company’s warehouse in Hanoi on 15 July, Eye for Transport reports, adding that “compared with ocean freight, the trucking service can shave up to ten days off the transit time.”
