Pallets by night – PalletXpress
After two years of quiet behind-the-scenes operation via its new hub in Lichfield, Hellmann Parcel Systems has officially launched its overnight pallet delivery system, PalletXpress.
The service uses the same hub-and-spoke system as Hellmann’s overnight parcel network.
Lichfield is claimed to be the only UK facility capable of sorting pallets of up to 1,200kg – at 1,000 per hour – alongside parcels.
Next-day and two-day service is available throughout the UK and Ireland, where all 69 Hellmann depots have tail-lift vehicles.
UK sales and marketing manager Graham Stokes said the main target market was those companies “currently moving two or three pallets a night and giving them to an integrator or their express parcel mover, someone who may not be set up for full pallet loads”.
