Swiss Post partners with Fribourg Cantonal Bank
Swiss Post has revealed a partnership with Fribourg Cantonal to provide a variety of mailing services to the bank. Since mid-August, Swiss Post has also been responsible for digitising documents, operating the central in-house mail and processing slip-based payment transactions for the bank.
All of the jobs affected by this cooperative venture have been retained in Canton Fribourg, the company said.
The central in-house mail is operated on the premises of Fribourg Cantonal Bank at its head office in Fribourg. This is also where the documents to be digitised are prepared for transportation to the letter centre, where Swiss Post scans them.
The documents are indexed and formatted for daily transfer to Fribourg Cantonal Bank’s electronic archive. All employees involved in processing are subject to banking secrecy and postal secrecy regulations.
In the past few years, Swiss Post has undertaken various internal services for a number of banks such as UBS, Raiffeisenbank, Glarus Cantonal Bank and Ticino Cantonal Bank.
