MNX chief named Express and Logistics Association president
Scott Cannon, the chief executive of Los Angeles-based express transportation and logistics firm MNX, has been named as the new president of the Express Delivery and Logistics Association (XLA). Cannon began his term last week, after being nominated and approved at the organisation’s latest annual membership meeting held at the AirCargo 2011 conference in San Diego, California.
He takes over from outgoing president John Costanzo, the president of US-Canadian express firm Purolator International.
Commenting on his appointment, Cannon said: “On behalf of all the members of XLA, I’d like to thank outgoing President John Costanzo for his service and dedication to our industry and association, which included an unprecedented extra year of service past his term.
“I am very much looking forward to working with our members, our new Board of Directors, and our exceptional executive director Jim Conway on advancing the regulatory and legislative initiatives that are so important to our members.”
Cannon joined MNX in 2002 as vice president finance, before being promoted to chief financial officer in 2004 and CEO in early 2007. His company has offices on four continents, working with partners through a network extending to more than 195 countries worldwide.
