A-1 Express launches delivery optimisation programme in US

US sameday delivery specialist A-1 Express has launched a new programme offering to optimise mail and express delivery connections between the branches of large businesses. Atlanta-based A-1 already offers nationwide courier services, ranging from bike messengers in downtown metropolitan areas to less-than-truckload freight.

It says the new multi-stop service route programme will provide a logistical analysis of a US company’s locations, making use of route optimisation software to develop the most efficient delivery network.

The service would help corporations dealing with numerous daily internal and external deliveries between offices, such as for payroll, deposits, packages and mail deliveries.

A-1 said the programme was strategically designed to raise interest in courier services among companies with locations across the US. The company said it would be highlighting the courier industry as a “professional, viable option” for businesses with multiple locations.

The firm said outsourcing communications could offer US businesses operational efficiencies and allow them to focus their resources on their end customers.

Mark McCurry, the A-1 Express president, said: “A multi-stop route service offers the most cost-effective method of office-to-office deliveries.”
