Taiwan Allowed Shipping Offices in China
It is learned from the forum held here today on ‘establishing direct shipping links on a trial basis’ across the Strait that, as of the end of March, the mainland side [China] has approved the establishment in the motherland’s mainland a total of 32 offices and 4 joint ventures by Taiwan’s shipping companies. This was revealed by Hu Hanxiang, Board Director of the Association for Transportation Exchanges Across the Strait [ATEAS], when he spoke at the forum. It is learned that to this date the Taiwan Authorities still have not permitted mainland shipping companies to establish offices or operational organs on Taiwan.
