DHL expands Airfreight Plus network to Russia and CIS region
DHL Global Forwarding has revamped its Airfreight Plus service and increases its total reach to 54 countries by integrating Moscow and Russia’s major cities into the product’s network. The air freight solution provides customers with intra-European or intra-Asian door-to-door air transportation for cargo up to two tons. Businesses have access to more than 11,000 daily departures across Europe and Asia carried out by DHL’s owned fleet as well as commercial carriers. Currently, customers can pick between 31 European and 22 Asian destinations. The integration of Moscow and Russia’s major cities to the network will be completed by mid-year 2016 with further expansion into Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) by end of year.
“We have noticed a switch from overnight demand to more economical distribution solutions, and thus an increasing demand for our DHL Airfreight Plus product,” commented Ingo-Alexander Rahn, Global Head of Air Freight, DHL Global Forwarding.
DHL Airfreight Plus customers can choose between three day-definite transit times. Within Europe, they can select from Priority (1-2 days), Classic (2-3 days) and Deferred (2-5 days) services. In Asia Pacific, customers select from Classic or Deferred. DHL also offers the option to schedule later pick up times and earlier deliveries as well as the possibility to ship oversized and dangerous cargo.
