CheckFree Brings AT&T Consumers Their Long Distance Phone Bills Online

CheckFree and AT&T have announced that AT&T residential customers can now view and pay their long distance phone bills online at more than 150 Web sites in CheckFree’s electronic billing and payment (EBP) network. AT&T’s 60 million long distance customers can now realize the convenience of viewing and paying their bills via the Internet.

The Wall Street Journal has reported that the U.S. Postal Service is “planning to offer people living at all 120 million of the nation’s residential street addresses free e-mail addresses. It would link the e-mail and real-world addresses in a giant Postal Service database in Memphis, Tenn.”

Global Collect, a subsidiary of Dutch postal operator TNT Post Group, today introduced its online payment service that accepts multiple currencies and payment methods such as credit card, bank transfer, cheque or giro. Called WebCollect, the service–launched today in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia–is targeted at online merchants with a global customer base. There are plans to roll out the service in the US and UK next week, and to other parts of Asia next year.
