Busy times for Honestbee

Busy times for Honestbee

Singaporean on-demand grocery delivery start-up Honestbee has reportedly just raised $15m in funding, which it will use to fuel its international expansion plans. According to local reports, Honestbee set up in Singapore a few months ago, and has already started operations in Hong Kong last week and plans to expand to six other countries, including Taiwan and Japan, over the next six-months.

The company’s roster of part-time shoppers pick groceries from local stores and then pass them on to couriers working for Honestbee’s logistics partners. Most deliveries are completed in about an hour.

Honestbee’s head of marketing Shane Chiang has claimed that the company aims to be a “social impact business”, by offering work opportunities to people who can’t commit to full-time job,  such as stay-at-home parents, caregivers, and students.
