Going mobile is key to unlocking growth

A new study from eBay UK has found that nearly two thirds (62%) of UK small businesses expect to see sales growth through mobile technology this year. eBay’s research partner YouGov spoke to 4oo online businesses – and almost a third (32%) said mobile would be ‘vital’ to business growth in 2016. More than a third (36%) expected to see mobile sales growing by up to 10%, while one in five (21%) were hoping for sales increases of up to 30%.

Furthermore, they expressed this optimism despite concerns over connectivity issues and the patchy provision of services like 4G and WIFI.

“Businesses are now fully realising the benefits of the mobile revolution” said Andy Towers, Head of Mobile at eBay UK. “Mobile optimised sites and apps like eBay’s are helping customers to access technology that was once preserve of just the big retailers, and they are reaping the benefits.”

eBay’s latest app update – eBay 5.0 – was released last Friday (6 May).
