Walmart exploring online/in-store price differentials
US retailer Walmart has reportedly been exploring the possibilities of making some items more expensive to buy online for home delivery than they would be if they are picked up in store.
According to reports published by The Wall Street Journal and CNBC, Walmart is looking to see if creating a price differential could help to generate more footfall in the bricks and mortar stores.
According to CNBC: “Wal-Mart displays online prices and in-store prices for some items on its website and gives customers the option to shop online and pick up in-store with the less expensive price.”
