Europa Road: E-commerce has really boomed, and manufacturing is back to near normal
The European road freight team at Europa Road in Northampton has moved to Europa’s new state-of-the-art £60million 3pl logistics facility in Corby, as consignment levels continue to increase.
Operating the UK’s largest European groupage hub, Europa Road is part of ambitious independent logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group. Europa Road’s network of 13 UK branches trunk into Europa’s Dartford 1Hub, from where freight connects with daily, direct services to 30 continental hubs.
The team of nine from Europa Road has moved from Grange Park in Northampton to a brand-new office suite at the new Corby site – which is just 30 miles away. The Northants team are part of Europa’s national road freight operation, offering comprehensive import and export solutions across Europe.
Sales and Branch Network Director at Europa, Dionne Redpath, comments “We’re pleased to be moving our team to the brand-new site, at a time when the road freight business continues to get better. The Northants team are a key part of regional office network, ensuring we have local branches to support our local customer base.”
She added: “We continued to operate as normal throughout the pandemic with staff, where possible, working remotely. We didn’t reduce our services or add Covid-19 surcharges which has certainly paid dividends as the national lockdown continues to ease and manufacturing resume.”
Branch Manager, Mitch Clarke – who has worked for Europa for four and half years leads the Corby branch team and has recently hired two more members of staff. He added “We’re doing really well, back to pre-Covid-19 numbers and last month was actually our second-best month on record.
“We’ve won a lot of new business with many of our existing customers growing organically. E-commerce has really boomed, and manufacturing is back to near normal.”
