PostFinance launches the Plus Set and readjusts prices

PostFinance will be launching its Plus Set on 1 August 2008. Customers investing considerable funds will be rewarded with the opportunity to manage their account inexpensively or even completely free of charge. Using their PostFinance card, holders of a Plus Set will be able to withdraw cash free of charge from one million ATMs anywhere in the world. In the case of customers with lower product usage and fewer funds in their account, the fees will be passed on to the originator where appropriate. No price adjustments will be made to the Private, Youth and Student Sets, nor to the PostFinance Card. PostFinance remains one of the most cost-efficient financial institutions in Switzerland.

Private customers can manage their finances with PostFinance via a postal account or using one of four finance sets. These include a range of services: a payment transactions account and a savings account, PostFinance Card, optional online account management plus a host of other services. As part of their free set, young people and students will receive a selection of products to suit their needs. On 1 August 2008, PostFinance will be extending its range by launching the new Plus Set. It is ideal for active customers with substantial assets and includes the PostFinance Card, account statements, paper-based or electronic payment orders as well as standing orders. Thanks to the Plus Set, customers will be able to benefit from greater flexibility and additional services.

International cash withdrawals, free of charge
Withdrawing cash will become a particularly attractive concept for holders of a Plus Set. With their PostFinance Card, they will soon be able to withdraw cash free of charge from around one million ATMs throughout Switzerland and abroad. Any number of different accounts can be managed as part of the Plus Set, and holders will benefit from a reduced issuing commission when purchasing funds from PostFinance. The Plus Set costs just CHF 12 per month. This fee does not apply to set holders with assets of CHF 25,000 or more.

Price adjustment for postal accounts or online sets
PostFinance is readjusting the costs of its postal account. As of 1 August 2008, the monthly account management fee will increase to CHF 3 (currently CHF 2), the monthly statement will cost CHF 1 (currently free), ordering 25 payment orders with prefranked envelopes will cost CHF 5 (currently free) and setting up standing orders will also cost CHF 5 (currently free). In return, customers will be able to apply for a printed annual account statement free of charge. The price of the PostFinance Card (CHF 12 per year), the execution of a payment order (CHF 2) and standing order (CHF 0.50) will remain unaffected. As of 1 August 2008, the monthly fee for the Online Set will increase to CHF 3 (currently CHF 2). The Set will remain free of charge, providing customers invest more than CHF 7,500. No price adjustments will be made to the Private, Youth and Student Sets. Two-thirds of all PostFinance customers currently take advantage of the “sets”. The adjustments represent efforts by PostFinance to pass the fees on to the originator. It wants to motivate the customers to change in a set and not generate additional yield. PostFinance remains one of the most cost-efficient financial institutions in Switzerland. Customers likely to be affected by the launch of the Plus Set and the aforementioned price adjustments will be notified in mid-June.
