Post Danmark launches e-invoicing service

Post Danmark’s e-Communication business unit has launched the eComOne – an electronic service for businesses providing a direct and simple electronic flow of business documents.

The service puts an end to companies and businesses having to draw up agreements with each individual business partner.

“The benefit for individual businesses, in using electronic invoices, is the reduction in the number of duplicate entries of data made when businesses send and receive invoices. The service transfers the original data from the sender’s IT system to the receiver’s and the result for both parties are savings and, in particular, greater certainty that the data is correct,” said Giovanni Belli, head of Post Danmark’s eCommunication business unit.

With its eComOne service, Post Danmark can transfer electronic documents, such as invoices, between businesses or with public authorities – irrespective of whether the sender and the receiver use the same IT system, and no matter whether their data formats are identical.

“This means that businesses sending data, dispatch in their own format to us and then Post Danmark reformats the data to the format that the receiver requires. This may be to either a different data format, which the business receiving the data can use directly in its own system or it may be formatting and printing in the form of a physical letter,” explained Belli.

With the launch of the eComOne solution, businesses need to make a single exchange agreement with Post Danmark which gives them access to exchange electronic documents with all other businesses that have eComOne access or which are part of an established network.

“In addition to the technical solution of reformatting data between the various systems that businesses have, Post Danmark’s eComOne solution also ensures that the transfers of data comply with the legal requirements applicable to electronic invoices,” said Belli.
