Royal Mail launches Door Drops Online

Royal Mail has launched a new tool enabling customers to create and book their unaddressed mail campaigns online and arrange printing and direct delivery. Door Drops Online – www.doordropsonline.com – is designed specifically for small and medium sized businesses that may not have a relationship with a printer or logistic partner, enabling them to quickly arrange all aspects of their unaddressed mail campaigns with the printing and delivery managed by Royal Mail.

Phil Ricketts, Royal Mail’s head of strategy, sales and marketing for door to door, said: “The new Door Drops Online service is designed to help simplify all aspects of unaddressed mail campaigns enabling our customers to create their mailings and organise their printing and distribution requirements from the comfort of their own desks.

“Door Drops Online is designed with small and medium sized businesses in mind to offer them a comprehensive end to end solution which makes managing an unaddressed mail campaign even easier.”

As well as the online service, Royal Mail will also be offering a managed service option, (Print Assist) giving customers the opportunity to deal directly with an account manager who can talk them through the process from start to finish.

Royal Mail also recently reduced the booking times for unaddressed mail campaigns to give retailers even greater flexibility to seize on newly-identified opportunities in the run up to Christmas.

The improvements to the service come as Royal Mail, for the first time, gears up to deliver Door to Door mail throughout the Christmas period.

Ricketts said Door Drops Online will also enable smaller business customers to consider an unaddressed mail campaign to boost festive sales.

He added: “Extending the delivery window throughout the Christmas period opens up a world of opportunities for retailers and other businesses to communicate effectively with existing and potential customers.

“Recent research has suggested that many people will leave their Christmas shopping later this year as they seek out the best deals and Door Drops Online will mean that businesses can adapt their marketing activities and quickly develop an unaddressed mail campaign if sales are slower than expected.”
