Peter Bakker Appointed Chairman, CEO of TPG

“The Supervisory Board announced today that Peter (M.P.) Bakker (40) has been appointed as the new Chairman and CEO of Mail, Express and Logistics company TPG N.V. Mr Bakker, who has been employed by TPG since 1991 and has held the position of CFO since 1998 (see biography attached), succeeds Ad Scheepbouwer, who recently announced his intention to leave the company. Peter Bakker will assume his new position with effect from 1 November 2001. Supervisory Board Chairman Morris Tabaksblat is convinced TPG has appointed the right man for the job: ‘Peter Bakker has a broad experience in several management positions in the industries TPG is active in. In the past 5 years he has played a key role in the international expansion and stock exchange listing of the group. Peter’s leadership will drive TPG to a further strengthening of its leading position in Mail, Express and Logistics.’ Peter Bakker is looking forward to his new challenge with confidence: ‘It is a great challenge to take over the position of Ad. In my new position, I will provide continuity in the way we manage our business, and build on the strategy that makes TPG the wonderful company it is.’ The Supervisory Board will announce the appointment of a successor to Peter Bakker in the position of Chief Financial Officer of TPG in due course.” (Source: TPG)
