Tiong Nam targeting e-commerce market

Malaysia-based logistics company Tiong Nam Logistics Holdings is looking to expand its delivery services for e-commerce companies. Group executive director Victor Ong has indicated that Tiong Nam believes working with online retailers could be a growing market.

In a wide-ranging interview published in Malaysia’s The Star this month, Ong also said that Tiong Nam plans to build a new five-storey, one-million-square-foot warehouse “in either Shah Alam or Johor Baru within the next three to five years”.

The Tiong Nam group, which is 47% owned by the Ong family, started trading in 1975 as a small scale cargo business handling consolidated cargo and micro distribution within Peninsular Malaysia. It is now the largest trucking company in Malaysia and is also active in Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and China. Alongside its warehousing and consolidated cargo businesses, Tiong Nam offers door-to-door express delivery services for packages of between one and 20 kg.
