New home access system launched

August Home has launched a system, called August Access, which customers can use to allow delivery couriers and other service providers to access their houses when they are not at home. The August Home system incorporates three hardware components:

  • a “Smart Lock” which integrates with Siri giving customers voice control to lock, unlock, or check the status of their door at anytime
  • a “Smart Keypad” (and entry codes can be auto-generated for one-time use or for regular use by friends, family, or trusted service providers)
  • a “Doorbell Cam”, which allows customers to see and speak with visitors at the door before granting access.

According to August Home: “Through the August app for iOS and Android, customers can easily discover and sign up for new services, and then control and monitor what is delivered to their homes. This provides a new level of convenience as customers no longer need to be home to receive deliveries.”

August Home has partnered with a number of companies in the home delivery and home service markets to promote the platform, including Postmates, Shyp, Fetch and Doorman.
