TPG Post UK hires former Royal Mail Media Markets director Higham

David Higham, former publishing director of Royal Mail Media Markets, is to spearhead Netherlands-based company TPG Post’s assault on the UK delivery of bulk mail after accepting the position of development director.

Higham, who spent ten years at Royal Mail, is taking up the post after leaving his previous role earlier this year in a divisional shake-up (PM January 10). At the time, one Royal Mail insider called the marketing department restructure a “slap in the face” for Higham and three other directors who left the business.

He will now lead TPG Post UK’s sales, marketing and business development, based in Maidenhead, Buckinghamshire.

TPG Post UK was one of the first foreign companies to obtain a UK licence to deliver bulk mail of at least 4,000 items. The company, with brands comprising Royal TPG Post and TNT, enjoyed global sales of #8.3bn in 2002.

Higham says: “It has been highly publicised that customers want choices when it comes to delivery methods. TPG Post is responding to this and we are well placed to take advantage.”
