Gebrüder Weiss opens new offices in China
Austrian logistics company Gebrüder Weiss has expanded its presence in China with four new offices.
In a statement issued last week, Gebrüder Weiss announced that it had recently opened offices in Hong Kong as well as Shenzhen, Zhanjiang and Guangzhou in China’s Guangdong province.
“The most recent expansion, as well as the sustained growth in the past 25 years, emphasizes the immense importance of the Chinese market for the Group strategy of Gebrüder Weiss”, said Yongquan Chen, General Manager of Gebrüder Weiss in China.
Gebrüder Weiss has been active in China since 1985 and opened its first office in Shanghai in 1992. Today, the company runs offices at 19 locations in the key transport hubs of Greater China – including the headquarters in Shanghai, the largest container port in the world, China’s “automotive capital” Changchun, the silk road city Urumqi, and major transport hubs such as Beijing, Tianjin, Ningbo as well as the high-tech centres Chengdu and Chongqing.
The company’s core activities in China include air and sea freight, railway and multimodal transports as well as special logistics solutions including storage, local distribution and e-commerce.
In Europe, the company’s specialist divisions include the Gebrüder Weiss parcel service GWP, a partner in Austria with DPD.
