Australian Post Office muscles into distribution market

Australia Post has ambitious plans to provide warehousing, logistics and assembly services for the information technology (IT) industry. The company recently signed a contract with Microsoft Australia for distribution of the Xbox video game consoles. Alec Ceselli, general manager of Post Logistics at Australia Post, said the company intended to work in partnership with distributors. The expansion into offshore markets and growth by acquisition were also considered. Traditional IT distributors – Tech Pacific, Ingram Micro and IT Wholesale – will certainly be affected by Australia Post’s plans
