Aldi launches home delivery service, starting with wine offers

UK supermarket Aldi has launched its online shopping and home delivery service – starting with deals on wine. Selected wines will be available both for home delivery and for pick-up from Collect+ parcel points.

Aldi will be offering free delivery on orders over £50. For order under £50, there will be a standard £3 delivery charge.

Commenting on the launch, Matthew Barnes, CEO of Aldi UK, said: “We’re applying our well established Aldi principles of simplicity and efficiency to our new online operation. All of the wines available in our stores are being sold alongside a limited number of online exclusives.

The supermarket will be extending the range of goods available for delivery in the second quarter (Q2), with selected electrical items, camping equipment, clothing, cycling wear, gardening and DIY tools.

Aldi has confirmed that it is investing £35m to establish its e-commerce operation.
