Deutsche Post to acquire a 50 percent stake in Securicor Distribution

November 1998 Deutsche Post has acquired a 49.9% stake in Securicor Distribution with 50% of the voting rights, Securicor Distribution operates in the business sectors parcels and express, contract logistics, warehousing and making out of dispatch orders. The new joint venture employs around 12,500 people and runs 7,000 vehicles. In 1997, the turnover generated totalled around £ 562 million (DM 1,556 million).

Deutsche Post Buys U.S. Firm QuickMAIL

April 3, 2000 — Deutsche Post’s Global Mail subsidiary has bought QuickMAIL, the international mail division of U.S. courier firm Quick International Courier. QuickMAIL, with 100 staff and locations in New York, Los Angeles and Canada, had turnover of $24 million in 1998-99, Deutsche Post said in a statement. The acquisition will enable Global Mail, bought by the German post office in 1998, to expand its range of international mail services for U.S. customers, it added.
