Iranian Post Office to be privatized

The general assembly of the Postal Company agreed on the privatization of Iran’s National Postal Company. The decision has been made in accordance with the Third Five-Year Development Plan (2000-2005) of the country.
According to the bill, the post office will no longer be responsible for the collection and delivery of postal services and it will only be operating in breaking down and sorting of the mail. The private sector can establish distribution networks to collect the post in every part of the country.
