T-Mobile and FedEx Kinko’s complete deployment of wireless hotspots nationwide

Customers of FedEx Kinko’s Office and Print Centers will find staying connected on the road a little easier, now that nearly all 1,100 U.S. locations offer T-Mobile HotSpot wireless broadband service. The new service allows customers to wirelessly access the Internet, send documents for production, connect with their corporate networks and check e-mail.

FedEx Kinko’s locations offer customers the industry’s broadest range of business services and create an “office on the road” for companies with a distributed sales force or decentralized operations, a growing trend in business.

“Wireless broadband is a great example of how FedEx Kinko’s is catering to mobile professionals by providing them with the tools they need to stay connected on the road,” said Jeff Heyman, vice president of retail at FedEx Kinko’s Office and Print Services, an operating company of FedEx Corp. “Our broad range of business services, including FedEx shipping, printing and copying services and videoconferencing, is unmatched in the industry.”

The companies completed the initial deployment of the T-Mobile HotSpot service in just six months, adding an average of six new Hotspots every day. The service is now featured at most new FedEx Kinko’s locations.

“Today marks another important milestone in T-Mobile’s quest to provide wireless broadband service in locations that mobile professionals tell us they visit,” said Joe Sims, vice president and general manager of T-Mobile HotSpot. “This continues our goal of simplifying life for people by providing easy-to-use and reliable Wi-Fi service in venues that are conveniently located and many of which are always open.”

“T-Mobile HotSpot service improves my ability to interact with clients,” said Bill Graham, president of Graham Marcus, Inc., a Dallas/Fort Worth-based business offering building inspection department services. “After a recent client meeting, I needed to make revisions to a contract and was able to use T-Mobile’s Wi-Fi service at a FedEx Kinko’s location to connect with my staff at the office and print out the updated contract — saving me two hours of travel time.”
