Nimber launches in UK

Norwegian “community delivery service” Nimber is now available in the United Kingdom and it is targeting SMEs as potential customers. Much like the Roadie service in the United States, which Post&Parcel wrote about earlier this week, Nimber works by matching “senders” with “bringers”, people who going in the right direction anyway and have some spare capacity in their vehicle which they can use to earn some cash.

Nimber started up in Norway and is now aiming to extend its network internationally. The company reports that it recently surpassed the 30,000 user mark and that it “continues to grow as evidenced by a 425% increase in delivery requests from 2013 to 2014”.

Nimber is hoping that SMEs will not only want to use the service as senders but also put spare capacity in their vans to good use by enrolling as bringers.
