Posti: “We have reached a historical turning point”

Finland’s Posti has announced that its new business strategy recognizes that the company has reached an “historical turning point”, with its growth now coming from parcels and logistics.

In a statement issued yesterday (7 November), Posti said its Board of Directors has approved a three-year strategy based around four key objectives: success in e-commerce; maintaining the importance of letters among customers; the renewal of Posti’s service culture; and improving Posti’s services through digitalization.

As part of its drive in e-commerce, Posti said that it will open 1,000 new parcel lockers next year. These will be in addition to the existing 500 parcel lockers.

Posti’s CEO Heikki Malinen, said the lockers will support the growth of e-commerce.

Malinen also emphasized the importance of digitalization  – arguing that is “not a threat to Posti but rather a wonderful opportunity to make the everyday lives of customers easier”.
