FedEx to end ground delivery contract with Amazon this month

FedEx Corp will terminate its contract with Amazon.com Inc for small-package ground deliveries this month.

The news follows FedEx’s announcement in June that it decided not to renew its contract with Amazon for U.S. cargo delivery through its plane-based express service.

“This change is consistent with our strategy to focus on the broader e-commerce market,” FedEx said in a statement

Amazon in a statement said it is “constantly innovating to improve the carrier experience and sometimes that means reevaluating our carrier relationships.”
