NetDespatch sees 100% increase in business

UK-based NetDespatch, the web-technology innovator for the express transport sector, has reported a 100% increase in business over the year. This increase relates to jobs being processed using NetDespatch web services, with data for millions of parcels and packets booked, tracked and delivered being processed through the system each month.

The company has forged ahead with its Software as a Service (SaaS) platform, attracting new customers both in the UK and internationally, including Home Delivery Network (HDN), Collect+, New Zealand Post and Nordic Parcels.

NetDespatch specialises in ‘on-demand’ software that simplifies a myriad of express parcel and packet collection and delivery operations. NetDespatch solutions require no up-front investment in hardware or software with the fully-managed and hosted services accessed via any Internet-linked PC or PDA. NetDespatch Velocity allows online booking, tracking and systems integration, simplifying the whole process of quotation, booking, creating labels and manifests, shipment tracking and management information. During 2010 NetDespatch Velocity became the preferred web booking solution for customers of HDN, as well as powering the web services processing platform for Collect+ – a new parcel returns and collections service available through PayPoint stores nationwide.

NetDespatch continues to innovate in order to produce software and web services, the latest addition to the NetDespatch portfolio being a mobile application called Agility. It uses the full power and seamless integration of the NetDespatch platforms to provide an ‘out of the box’ end-to-end multifunctional solution for any size fleet. Agility allows users to scan parcels throughout the delivery cycle, at point of collection, in the depot, in the hub, onto a delivery vehicle, as well as capturing signatures and other information at point of delivery. The  solution is highly configurable allowing different users to share the same device for different operational requirements.

Working with New Zealand Post, NetDespatch has developed its RedClick International shipping system. This automates document production for all postal services, saving New Zealand Post customers hours of manual effort by eliminating complex paperwork. The system provides simple web forms with built-in intelligence to request only the required information for each type of activity, and then automatically produces postal labels with the correct indicia as well as CN22 and CN23 Customs Declaration forms for international shipping.

NetDespatch also offers SecureScan, the secure Proof of Delivery (POD) solution. This solution uses a combination of cryptography and wireless communications to give fully authenticated POD, without the need for a signature. The system creates a matched pair of encrypted digital barcode tokens. One of these is sent to the recipient via email or as a text message, the other is incorporated within the parcel label. Both have to match at the point of delivery to assure delivery of the parcel to the correct recipient.
